The Free Range Pastor (TFRP) is sustained by a community marked by deep fellowship in the Gospel and long-standing relational accountability.
These are people who have walked with Ken through decades of ministry—across seasons, churches, joys, and trials—and who continue to believe in his pastoral calling and champion the mission of the Free Range Pastor.
This circle of advisors includes friends, sages, counselors, business leaders, churchmen and churchwomen, artists, economists, entrepreneurs, small-business owners, designers, homemakers, teachers, nonprofit board members, CEOs, pastors, elders, and deacons.
Each brings unique wisdom, perspective, and expertise.
Their role is both supportive and strengthening.
They offer encouragement, prayer, resources, and counsel—but they also speak truthfully, set boundaries, and help keep Ken’s ambitions, emotions, and ego grounded in Christlike humility.

Most importantly, they do life together.
Many of us have worshiped alongside one another in local churches, served on staff teams, sessions, and committees, and carried a shared burden for those outside the traditional boundaries of the Church—especially those who find themselves at her margins.
This advisory community is part of the fabric that keeps TFRP rooted, accountable, and spiritually healthy as he pastors people in everyday places.
And let’s be honest…They embody the same love, joy, and fellowship that we experience with all of you!

Advisors serve across four teams:
Organization & Business
Finance & Budgeting
Shepherding & Credentialing
Personal Life & Family
and five serve on the official governing board.

Begin the day in the Word and in prayer—over coffee and Mama J’s baked goods.
Review the core areas of care: Organization & Business, Finance & Budgeting, Shepherding & Credentialing, and Personal Life & Family.
Pause to pray intentionally over specific needs, opportunities, and challenges.
Walk through an annual report celebrating the impact of the mission and naming the challenges ahead.
Feast, celebrate, laugh, and sometimes cry—making memories that strengthen our life together.

The Free Range Pastor is 100% funded by family, friends, and those who love us and believe in the mission…
