Pastor means shepherd, one who guides, loves, helps, heals, redirects, and walks alongside sheep inside or outside a church. Many times a pastoral consultation leads to referrals with a variety of affiliates that can serve you better than a pastor. This could be recommending a visit with a new friend, contacting your physician, scheduling an appointment with a licensed counselor, attending a support group, or researching and serving with a local organization.
There’s something about being out of your normal routine, on the open road, in the mountains, or on the rocky shores of a coastline. Through periodic adventure trips, I gather people in manageable communities to help them escape the normal routines, slow down, listen, and reflect, all while experiencing creation or another culture around the world.
An essential aspect of pastoring is helping others engage with God’s word in a curious manner. Offering regular opportunities for large and small group Bible study allows people to process the truth of God’s word with the reality they experience. Whether one-on-one or in a group, we seek to create honest spaces where real questions, fears, and doubts can be brought up and discussed — all in the context of a winsome and kind community.
What does it look like to offer your entire life — time, talent, and treasure — up for the sake of the world? To live for something greater than yourself, as your truest self, and fully alive because of it? I help advise others through career, gifting, and calling questions, helping to unearth where your deep longings intersect with the world’s great need and linking you with others asking similar questions.
